Nick Lorne lay on Rodney’s bed, iPod headphones in, humming along quite enthusiastically to The Clash’s Koka Kola. He’d decided a while ago that lying on his front on his hypochondriac lover’s mattress was a bad idea, but he couldn’t quite be bothered to turn over just yet. His eyes merely scanned the pages of the novel in his hands, a well-thumbed copy of The Da Vinci Code that had been doing the rounds on Atlantis.

He looked up when the door slid open to admit his limping lover.

“How’s it doing?” Nick asked. “Still very painful?”

“What do you think? We’ll shoot you in the arse and see how you like it and why are you reading that?”

“It’s doing the rounds. It’s not bad.”

Rodney rolled his eyes. “It’s abysmal.”

“It’s a modern classic.” Nick countered.

“No, just no. The Lovely Bones is a modern classic, that is, well… Now is there a particular reason for you to be so firmly entrenched on my bed? I thought you were running drills on the mainland till tomorrow?”

“Well, I could go back. I just thought I’d come and keep my wounded boyfriend company.” He made as if to stand.

“No, no, stay right where you are.”

          “Yes, sir.”

Rodney Shivered. “Oh God, don’t do that.”

          “Do what?”

Rodney waved erratically around as he begun unclipping his thigh holster and slipping his jacket to the floor. “The ‘Sir’ thing. Especially considering you are lying topless on my bed.”

“You really should hang that up. It’ll get creased, and then you’ll be rumpled. People will think I’m not taking proper care of you.” A totally innocent face, only spoiled when Nick smirked.

“I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself, thank you Major. I did manage for many years before you, and I’m sure when the martyr complex that you share with the Colonel leaves me alone again, I will cope once more.”

“Fuck, Rodney, don’t say that, it’s not fair and I’m not the one who got shot in the butt am I? Do you ever think what I’d do if you got killed? Probably doing something stupidly heroic to save everyone else.” He finally climbed from the bed. Moving to stand in front of Rodney. One hand smoothing the wispy curls of hair at the base of Rodney’s neck.

          “Ok, fine. I’m sorry.”

“Good, does that mean we can have hot make-up sex?”

Also, question! What is Lorne's decided name, I went with Nick in this because it seems to be a combination of Nick or Marcus in most, and I prefer Nick personally. So was there a post or something I missed? Probably.

Neat tag. I like seeing how people explain Lorne's absence in "Sateda". As far as Lorne's first names go: fandom seems to be split. Marcus is the name that the people at GateWorld's forums are rooting for, but I'm not sure how they chose that name. I believe that [livejournal.com profile] casspeach was the first to use Nick as Lorne's first name, and many of the early LJ Lorne writers went along with that.

I prefer Nick as well. I don't mind Marcus as a name, but I don't think Lorne looks like a Marcus.

No problem! LJ is acting really funny today.

I think casspeach and z_rayne were the first authors I read, too.

PS I was going to link to this at my Lorne fiction index (http://kheryn42.livejournal.com/2707.html). Is that the title you want me to list it under? Or is "Untitled Sateda tag" okay. (Or whatever else you want to call it.)

Excellent. Thanks. It's going up today.
