Fic Exchange Poll...

So I've been poked by a couple of people about having a fic exchange... Admittedly I haven't previously because of the amount of work it entails. Anyways if I do I’d like to make it as user friendly as possible (for me & you)…

If you have participated in fic exchanges in other fandoms/pairings tell me what worked for you, what didn’t? Any thoughts you have to make a successful fic exchange? To avoid the problems? Suggestions of anything different from what you usually see in a fic exchange?

Lets discuss… Note I’m gone during the day, and will reply as quickly as I can in the evenings/morning of my time zone PST. ETA: Poll will end midnight PST 1-7-11 -

Tis CLOSED!

I love the idea of challenges and exchanges and the like. However due to work, two kids under ten, running the house and all the others of millions of things I have to do, I don't always get time to write. Hence I try not to commit myself to things I may not finish. But I love reading all your stuff so can I vote for yes to everything you all suggest and I;ll join in as often as I can.

I would only hope that enough people sign up that preferred pairings on the recipients' parts matches what writers are willing to write. We may have to be a little more open-minded on this one...

Going my my experiences with SGA Santa and the Jack/Daniel fic-a-thon it seems that a month or a month and a half is a good amount of time for writing a 1000 word minimum fic. I think it should definitely have a min word count, but don't see any reason for a max count.
This would be so exciting to do!
If you would like any help with the work, I've been wanting to work/help out with a fic exchange for ages. I have more ideas if you're interested. You can email me at merrov at hotmail.co.uk

The amount of time would be contingent on the length of the stories. I just finished one fic exchange and the only thing I did not like is that my story had to be in by September 1st, and I rushed to meet its deadline, and it was just posted in December. Also longer deadlines allows people to fine tune and polish the stories and possibly get over and road blocks in their way. If you give one month you might see a lot of drop outs. ^__^

My problem is that as much as I love the idea of them, I usually fail to be able to handle writing to order like that.

If we cant do it like and exchange what about doing the lorne equivalent of a BB. That would be good.
