I've gotten myself a little stuck on a fic I'm working on, and as the reason I'm stuck is the details of Lorne's military career -- who better than you lovely people to help?

So my question is: when do you think Lorne joined the Air Force? Do you see him as the kind of guy who enlisted after 9/11 or did he just go straight from college? If the latter, what age do you see him as?

I've always had him at around 35-38 in my head, but well, what do you guys think?
