Fright Night

Who? Lorne any slash pairing
Where? Here, fic or art. Fics: as many as you'd like with a 500 word minimum Art: manips, wallpaper, 3 icon minimum.
When? Start Sept 15, posting due Halloween weekend.
What? themed fic or art where its only as limited as your imagination: from dark terror, haunting with ghosts, goblins, vampires, werewolves to comic silliness celebrating Halloween in Atlantis.

No sign ups, but no posting until Oct 29th thru to midnight Oct 31st.
Then a break in Nov especially for those who sign up for Nanowrimo.
In Dec we'll have the 12 Days of Lorne

ETA: Seems there is interest, yay!! So I'll officially post on the 15th to open the challenge, going with Fright Night unless someone has a better idea? Also if anyone has any thoughts/amendments for the challenge lmk before I post on the 15th...

This may be inappropriate &, if so, I apologize in advance. But it seems like you might want to ask the mods of lornes_diner if you can cross-post this challenge there, &/or tell folks here at slashing_lorne about the cool 'verse there. After all: vampires, winged fey creatures, the suggestion of other supernatural creatures, magical mirrors & objects, mysterious time/space travel with lurking hungry predators, a sentient (& bossy!) diner: what more could you want in a Hallowe'en fic or setting? Who knows, maybe the mods of lornes_diner would like to run a simultaneous challenge....

Ooo, I'm not familiar with them. As for recc'n I'd kindly ask you to rec since you're familiar with the group- all Lorne recs are welcome here, so you can post & tell us about it.

I did pop over and over to the verse its based on - seems to be McShep? Curious, in the main verse is Lorne paired with anyone? Though on the Lorne's diner comm it seems to be open to any character pairing to meet at Lorne's diner, yes?

I'll post a official Fright Night for the 15th, if you'd like to post & link the challenge there since you're a member, that'd be great =)

*g* This sounds like a great (silly/fun) challenge! Who wouldn't want to write a bewitching tale of Halloween, in Atlantis, about Major Evan Lorne with another scrumptiously hot guy..(?) Not any insane person anyway considering nobody in this comm is able to pass a sanity test (and don't ask me how I know anything about sanity tests). I still love all your work though!! <3 You all, writers and mods alike, do a fantastic job on here! *G*
Anyways, I just thought I'd write to say that this sounds like a challenge that a lot of people would happily participate in with the right publicity and that I am interested in fully joining this (cult) comm. I am a lurker and rare commenter (yes I do feel guilty about that). I can't promise you anything though as I have been willing my brain to write something decent for years and practically, nearly tortured it in the last month trying to write out one of the 14 pages of ideas I have in my word document (and the text size is 9!!! '_'). So all I'm saying is I am intersted so I will try since Major Lorne=<3<3
I do have to say though that I think it would have a bigger attraction of fic if you opened it up to at least Lorne-centric GEN (even if you wanted to keep it strictly slash). Just a thought from little old me, so don't mind it if it's not what you're after.

No worries and yay! for lurkers ;) No Gen is always allowed. I do try to stay focused on slash because that is the primary focus of the comm, but gen is welcome on a daily basis and for all the challenges. Please do join in, we're a very friendly group, and any questions/concerns just ask.

Btw, YAY! on writing, new words is always good =)

Yes you can cross-post and post to them first. I only ask you post before the deadline, but do keep in mind you can also just do a 500 snippet, if you were inclined *g* Though overall it's a low stress challenge.

I'm up for this. I never did finish my last prompt for the last challenge but I will keep working on it. A long lead time is good cos it gives the muse chance to kick. I already have an idea, now to see if it will translate to pc.
